Joho saved my life – Bongo star reveals

Bongo star Ommy Dimpoz has thanked Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for saving his life.

Speaking after undergoing a throat surgery that left him in a coma for nine days, the musician divulged he had difficulties swallowing food during Ali Kiba’s wedding in April and Joho was quick to offer assistance.

“Governor Joho noticed that I was having problems swallowing food during Alikiba’s wedding in Mombasa. I could barely swallow anything.

“He offered to take me to his personal doctors for a checkup,” stated Dimpoz.

The governor’s doctors advised him to seek specialized treatment in South Africa and with the support of Joho and Ali Kibas’ recording label, RockStaar 4000 Management, funds were raised.

The Cheche hitmaker has been recovering for the past two months and said, were it not for recommendations from the governor’s medics, his situation may have been worse.

Upon arrival in South Africa, Dimpoz was informed of the severity of his condition and he was not sure he would come out of the 12-hour surgery alive.

“When I woke up, I was informed I had been in a coma for nine days. It was a major operation all the way down to my stomach and I thank God I am alive.

“I’m also very grateful to Governor Joho and Alikiba,” he added.

Dimpoz intends to fly to Mombasa to fully recuperate once he is discharged.
