Gabon striker Aubameyang undergoes Arsenal medical with Giroud Chelsea-bound

2015 African player of the year Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to complete a move to Arsenal, with several English football outlets reporting that he was penciled in for a medical on Wednesday, 31st January.

According to Mirror Football Aubameyang was potted arriving in London ahead of a move that will cost the Gunners around 60 million euros

He was seen at the Gunners’ training ground on Tuesday and according to reports, once the deal is done, he will be clocking 180,000 euros in a single week.

Mirror reports that the Gabon target man was having his medical at London Colney, but Borussia Dortumund are said to be stalling on the deal if they don’t get a replacement.

Chelsea’s underrated striker Michy Batshuayi has been linked with a move to Dortmund, a move set to set in motion Arsenal’s Giroud’s transfer to Chelsea and the finalization of the Aubamenyang deal.


After the 3-1 defeat to Swansea on Tuesday, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger told journalists that he was happy to hear the Gabon striker joining them.


"Yes, it is good news. We need people who can give us more offensive power. He has a big challenge in front of him. He wants to do well in the Premier League,” said Wenger.
