FORGET MBAPPE: Monaco on the verge of unveiling the best striker in Europe

Just six months after loaning out star man Kylian Mbappe to rivals Paris St Germain, Monaco are already making big strides in terms of replacing the Frenchman.

Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco on a preliminary season-long loan days after the club signed Neymar from Barcelona for 200 million euros – the most expensive transfer deal in history.

At the end of the season, PSG will complete a permanent deal for Mbappe worth 166 million euros – making him the second-most-costly transfer.

“For me, it was the project that was going to allow me to develop, to learn while winning. And win right away. We only have one career and it goes quickly,” said Mbappe after joining the Ligue 1 leaders.

According to Italian football outlet Football Italia, Monaco is on the verge of signing 16-year-old Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri for a reported fee of around 25 million euros.

Just like Mbappe did while at Monaco, Pellegri has shown so much promise as a teenager in the Serie A, scoring three goals in 8 appearances.

The outlet reports Pellegri was in talks with Juventus before Monaco stepped up their pursuit of his services.

He will soon be announced as a Monaco player as soon as he finishes his medical.

Genoa will get 10 per cent of any forthcoming transfer fee in the 25 million euro deal that has added bonuses.

He will sign a 5-year contract with the French outfit.
