Ronaldo could sign for Man United in the summer – relationship with Mourinho has improved

Five-time Ballon D Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo could make a return to Old Trafford in the summer.

This is according to United Kingdom outlet The Express, which states that Ronaldo has grown unhappy with the Real Madrid President Florentino Perez over failure to award him with a new bumper contract.

Ronaldo is said to have also asked the club to lower his transfer fee, suggesting that this time, he might actually want to leave Los Blancos.

Word around town is that Ronaldo’s relationship with Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho has improved.

The two worked together at Real Madrid between 2013 and 2015, with the 12-time Champions League winners winning the Copa Del Rey and the League during this period.

They, however, fell out after Mourinho criticised Ronaldo’s performances, eventually leading to the Portuguese’s departure from the club.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol reports that Ronaldo could be considering a move back to England wit Man United looking like his likely destination if the transfer were to happen.

Ronaldo has threatened to leave the club before, most recently, agitating for a move after tax fraud allegations were leveled against him.

It is at Manchester United where Ronaldo introduced himself to the world, winning a Champions League title and also being named World Footballer of the Year.

Though most pundits say that it would be useless for Ronaldo to sign for United because of his age, the star has not spoken about a move but has in many occasions talked about his love for the Red Devils.

Time will tell if the best player in the world will reunite with Mourinho…Though it seems highly unlikely.
