For the first time in ages, Wenger finally shows support for Mourinho

Many football fans won’t forget when Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho referred to Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger as “an expert in failure”.

Better yet, no one can forget one explosive London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge that saw the two coaches almost exchange blows during the match.

For the first time in ages, Wenger has come out to show support for the Red Devils coach following the heated Manchester Derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.

According to reports, Jose Mourinho stormed the Citizens dressing room after the game and asked the players to show some respect, sparking uproar from both teams’ officials and players.

Pep Guardiola’s assistant, former Everton, and Arsenal Midfielder Mikel Arteta was left with a cut on his forehead after the scuffle.

Wenger had something to say about it:

“It can go overboard. It happened to us. It happened to us. Hopefully you commit 100 per cent to the pitch and are an angel after. I don't know what happened really. It is difficult to take to see the 100 per cent celebration on the other side. It is an experience that's a little bit offensive,” said Wenger when discussing the Manchester Derby.

Wenger added that the situation was part of the intensity and scolded the city players for celebrating too wildly.

“That's why I admired sumo in Japan because the guy who wins does not show his happiness out his respect for his opponent.

"Is it something we can copy? I don't think so. It's not part of our culture,” added Wenger.

Man City beat Man United 2-1 to go 11 points ahead.
