Five things Kenyans will never forget about President Uhuru’s first-term

There are a number of things that Kenyans will never forget about President Uhuru Kenyatta’s first term in office. From the good things to the bad, the hilarious and scandalous moments, name them all. The president and his deputy William Ruto promised us a lot of things some which they achieved and other which they terribly failed.

President Uhuru and his deputy will be sworn-in on Tuesday 28 November for their second term in office. Here are some of the most memorable things Kenyans will never forget about their first-term;

The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR)

This is undoubtable one of the most memorable achievements Kenyans will never forget about President Uhuru’s first-term. The Sh300 billion project, which is considered the biggest infrastructure project in Kenya since independence, has so far seen the ease of transportation from Nairobi to Mombasa and vice versa by a number of Kenyans.


The laptop project

President Uhuru, while in his first-term, said that his government was committed to improve the learning standards in the country which led to the birth of the laptop project in Kenyan schools. It was a good project we must admit, but was met with a lot of criticism with some of his critics telling him to dump the Sh53 billion project.


Tossed up in air by Rugby Sevens

The Kenyan 7s rugby team visited President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House in Nairobi after their historic win in Singapore in April 17, 2016. The president went ahead and promised the team a reward of 10 million Kenyan shilling. It was memorable to watch the president being tossed up the rugby team.


Eating at a Kibanda moments

President Uhuru caught the attention of a lot of Kenyans when they went to a kibanda to eat. No one expected that such a powerful and rich man would pull such a move. Although others termed it as a public relations move, others thought it was nothing but a humble gesture.


Bahati unseats President Uhuru

Gospel Singer Bahati shocked many Kenyans on Saturday 10 September 2016 after he removed President Uhuru from his seat during the jubilee launch at Kasarani stadium and sang his hit song ‘Mama’ to the first lady. Bahati’s move was met will all sorts of reactions from Kenyans with most people saying that he lacked respect. However, the president did not seem to mind at all.
