Robert Mugabe was my sponsor, Kenyan MP laments

The news of the fall of President Robert Mugabe may have been good news to people who viewed the 93-year-old leader as an oppressor.

But it seems there is another side of the veteran politician that many Kenyans did not know. Yesterday, a youthful MP was overheard lamenting to his colleagues that he has lost his main sponsor of his campaign in the August 8 poll who is also a personal friend.

The controversial MP, who explained that he was now like an orphan since the exit of his political Godfather, revealed that he had scheduled to visit Mr. Mugabe after the Supreme Court decides on the presidential petition. He will now have to shelve his plans.
