Alice Wahome took my coat that had about 15,000 in it

A Returning officer at a polling station in Kandara, Martin Malonza says he lost money amounting to an estimated Sh15, 000.

Malonza said this in an interview where he was talking about the altercation that occurred between him and area Member of Parliament Alice Wahome.

This amateur video of the MP attacking the RO hit social media on Friday, October 27.

She had demanded to see the presidential election results form from him but he refused, ending up with a dramatic shove and push.

Alice in her defense claimed that Malonza had not entered the correct details in the document and she was doing so in order to get the alleged 440 votes to their rightful owner.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) responded to the incident, saying that Alice would face disciplinary actions.

Malonza, who at that time did not file his complain at the police station claiming he had to deliver the results to Bomas first has since talked about his experience.

He said that the chief agent for the Jubilee Party kept on refusing to sign the form, claiming that he had instructions from the MP not to do so until she arrived.

Alice took so much time to arrive and Malonza left after including the agent’s reason for refusing to sign the form.

The RO went ahead to explain that when she arrived, Alice blocked his path asking to see the results but he declined.

He said that during the scuffle, the MP grabbed his coat from him and he has not seen it since then. “She even took my clothes, my coat, it had some money, and I don’t know where it is up to now. It had around Sh14, 000 or 15, 000. I don’t know where she took it’, he said.

Malonza also said that the offices who were present could not rescue him since they were all male and Alice warned any man against touching her.
