Manchester United left licking their lips after Carabao Cup quarter-finals draw

Cup holders Manchester United will have to travel to the Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol, England after being drawn against Bristol City for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

A Jesse Lingard brace against Swansea at the Liberty Stadium saw Man Utd secure a quarter-final spot against Bristol City, who demolished Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace 4-1.

Bristol has been in fine form in the League Cup this season, averaging more than 1.5 goals in their last four matches.

Manchester United, however, has been the subject of ridicule after their Premier League unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of newly promoted Huddersfield Town. Errors by Juan Mata and new signing Victor Lindelof saw Huddersfield record a first-ever victory over the Red-Devils in their history, leaving Jose Mourinho at fault for another poor performance.

Mourinho, however, asked the media not to individualise mistakes by the team.

Man Utd are favourites to win the tie at Ashton Gate with all quarter-final fixtures to be played between 19-20th December 2017.

Other Carabao Cup fixtures see Arsenal welcome Westham in a mouth-watering London Derby while last season’s Premier League Champions Chelsea host Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

In form Manchester City will travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City.
