FC Barcelona's offical Twitter account hacked! - They even announce a false transfer

On Wednesday 23rd August 2017, Spanish Club FC Barcelona’s Twitter account was hacked by a group that identified themselves as ‘Our Mine’ seeking contact the club officials after tweeting that Angel Di Maria had joined the Catalans.

“Welcome Di Maria to FC Barcelona! #DiMariaFCB”, read the tweet...

Many Barcelona followers were perplexed by the message on Twitter, knowing very well that Angel I Maria was settled at Paris St. Germain and has also played for their arch rivals Real Madrid.

However, by 9:30 a.m. the issue was resolved and the club tweeted, “Our accounts have been hacked tonight. We’re working to solve the problem as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.”

It is seemingly difficult for Barcelona to sign Di Maria from the French outfit, considering the sour nature in which Brazilian Neymar left – to join PSG.

Barcelona is in pursuit of Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele to replace Neymar and has also signed Paulinho from Asian club Guangzhou.

Our Mine called for the hashtag #FCBHack to trend on Twitter and Barca followers immediately ran with it.

The group is popular for leaking the first episode of the seventh season of the Mega TV franchise Game Of Thrones.
