Chama Cha Mashinani leaders in Nakuru County have asked the government to carry out investigations on the claims that there are some people distributing leaflets in the county asking some communities who are perceived to be allied to the Opposition to leave the county.

Led by Kuresoi South MP, Zakayo Cheruiyot, they called upon the acting Minister of Internal Security, Fred Matiangi to ensure that security of all Nakuru County residents are taken care of before and during the August 8 election.

“There are some people who are desperately determined to win political seats in Nakuru County through all means including bullying and intimidating the communities whom they perceive not to be supporting them. I want to put it to them in bold that no resident is going to leave Nakuru County anytime soon,” stated the MP.

“Fred Matiangi needs to act immediately and assure all residents here that their security shall be taken care of, notwithstanding their political affiliations nor their tribe. This county is not a place to gamble with in matters of security or nasty politics,” he added.

The MP was speaking on Thursday while commissioning various projects in his constituency including a Science Laboratory in Sinendet Day School, Girls' Dormitory in Ainamoi Primary School and a Classroom in Kiptaragon Primary School.

He was in the company of CCM officials and candidates for MCA seats including Ezra Mabwai Kiptagich Ward, Ole Koros Olposimoru Ward, Cllr. Joel Langat, Cllr. Bernard Soi and Cllr. Jonah Sigei.
