A prayer from a concerned comrade - 'Forgive me Father for I have sinned'

Forgive me father for I have sinned. It’s been years since my last confession. I pray you forgive my fellow campo folks who didn’t register as voters. They are poor souls who like the Jews that crucified your son Jesus, know not what they’ve done.

More so father, forgive me. Forgive others who like myself, went ahead and registered as voters ready to vote in honesty and good leadership. Lord, we merely went ahead with our desire for a corruption free nation. We didn’t mean to betray your other children of higher learning who decide to care less. Who prefer fornication, alcohol, ignorance and bangi smoking to their civil duty of registering as voters and voting.

Going forth, to pray I urge all 60 Kenyan universities. It’s lent. I pray that comrades learn to stand against upumbavu in the devil of tribal politics breaking into university administration. May the learned men and women find the will to stand against poor governance as they’ve done to crime, fare hikes and condom shortages in dispensers.

And I thank you for the emancipation of many students. Free them from the hold of slavery. Many have been slaves to hubris and inept flamboyant student leaders, particularly those who voted in a fellow who brandished obscene wealth, guns and bad manners the way a stripper in a River Road club waves her thong at lustful drunks. May they soldier into common sense this election year, may they wake from pitiless ignorance and be the leader of innovation, research, intellectual discourse and a saviour of Nairobi, the seat of the Kenyan government (from crime, environmental degradation and Kidero) as they are supposed to. And please wash the sins of Kenyan universities, that have turned degrees into chewing gum on sale on shelves in malls. They are even hawked online like data bundles! Just imagine. They’ve forsaken education.

Lastly, I beseech you. Please heal all female comrades from the ‘buy me this, buy me that disease’. They are unwell. Amen!
