HON. EUGENE WAMALWA GIVES HUNDRENDS OF BUNGOMA RESIDENTS TITLE DEEDS

Water and Irrigation CS Eugene Wamalwa, gave hundreds of Bungoma County residents title deeds on Sunday, at Marakaru shopping centre.

The recipients were victims of succession who inherited land but have been unable to get title deeds despite the advantage of their proximity to Kibabii University. Now that they have title deeds, they can access loans to develop their plots.

"It is within jubilee agenda that people in Kenya get title deeds. ‘In 50 years since independence, 42,000 title deeds were given out in Trans Nzoia County; however, the jubilee government has broken that record by giving out 120,000 title deeds in that County hence giving people a livelihood,"said CS Eugene Wamalwa.

The CS handed over title deeds to hundreds of people in Chepyuk, Mt Elgon, as well as Malakisi in Bungoma County. On Monday, the CS, together with the Deputy President William Ruto gave more than 900 titles to the people of Ndalu, Tongaren also in Bungoma County.

This is also meant to tame rising land conflicts in Bungoma.
