JP Chiefs aid politically suffocated governors bid for their second terms

Jubilee bosses' visit to North Rift is a sigh of relief to politically troubled governors in the region purported to be Jubilee territory. The ruling party governors, Alex Tolgos of Elgeyo Marakwet County and Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu County have got space to breathe as Deputy President William Ruto endorsed them to be given a second term.

The president, Uhuru Kenyatta, and his deputy William Samoei Ruto in their mega political rallies that hit the region a couple of days ago, called upon the citizens to vote in the Jubilee government.

Tolgos and Mandago have been in constant political suffocation from their antagonists who are consistently on the face-to-face battle for the hot seat. The leaders are in fear of losing the seats come August, 8 general polls.

The leaders gripped the shirts of the Jubilee party principals pleading for a hand to supplement them – helping them beat their foes.

Mandago faces an up-hill task to counter his opponent and prolific tycoon, Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich (Buzeki).

Zedekiah Kiprop is vying for the gubernatorial seat in Uasin Gishu County as an independent candidate and he has remained bold on his stand to remain in the race despite being asked by the DP to deflate the tires of his political bid.

On the other side optimistic Eng. Alex Tolgos is appending his political efforts to bring down his long-term opponent, Moses Kiplagat Changwony.

Changwony who is having a throat-cutting thirst for leadership is confident to win the race independently. The polished political gem has faced constant defeat in Kenya politics dating 1990s.

Meanwhile, the National Super Alliance (NASA) team led by Raila Odinga are expected to enter the region before Jubilee dust settles.
