Tourist attacked by Dragon after he is warned not to take pictures

In an incident that was termed as “the first in five years…”, a tourist was attacked by one of the world’s most famous, yet dangerous animals, the Komodo Dragon.

The victim, a 50-year-old man, was ruthlessly bitten by the creature on his left leg, after he got too close to take pictures of the world’s largest lizard.

Their bites are known to be venomous and the man, identified as Lon Lee Alle, a Singaporean, was quickly rushed to the hospital and is recovering.

According to Komodo National park Chief Mr. Suyidono, the victim must have disturbed the dragon while it was eating, making it react aggressively. He also highlighted that the incident occurred away from the ‘safe’ areas of the park.

Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara province is known for harbouring komodo dragons and it is said that the tourist had decided to stay with the locals for a couple of days in order to save on costs.
