A DEADLY WITCH WHO MINTED A SNAKE IN A COW NOW SUSPECTED


Kapkong’a residents in Keiyo south sub-county, Elgeyo Marakwet County are suspecting a middle-aged man to be associated with what left many in shock yesterday in Kapkwoni location after a live snake came out of a dead cow.

According to the area residents led by Joseph Kimosop, they believed that the phenomenon was associated to the witch.

Kimosop said that the alleged man whose names are withheld has fallen a victim of the witch on many occasions and his life journey has been full of frustrations.

The sources revealed that he has been chased away in many places he went to seek refuge and even one day he survived fate by a whisker from the angry mob.

He said that the man has no place to live as none accepted to either purchase or lease the land, even the area locals have threatened to evacuate him from the village.

The villagers said that the alleged man was once found with three bags of used underwear and was suspected that he had an intention to use the materials on matters witch.

Kapkwoni location chief, Jonah Tenai, who owned the cow said that the cow who expected a calf later this month had got paralyzed and he had called the local veterinary officer who suspected the condition to be associated with pregnancy.

The vet officer tried twice to induce delivery of the cow but failed after which the cow resumed its health state, till yesterday when the cow died and a live snake found in its body.

The spot check in the area showed that cattle rearing is a rare practice despite its favorable conditions which thrives dairy farming.

The residents attributed the conditions to the myth, in this case, witch. One of them who sought for anonymity revealed that one day his herd was wiped and since then his attempt to bring back the lost glory has since remained a hard nut to crack.

Meanwhile, the residents of Kocholwo within the same sub-county recently threatened to lynch an old man in the area who was alleged to bewitch. The claimed that the old man had paralyzed the area youth who have remained dormant on development matters.
