FIFA Ranking: Kenya go up 10 positions

Kenya Men’s’ Football team has risen to position 78 worldwide, thanks to ranking upsurge as per recent release by the world football governing body-FIFA.

This massive rise for Harambee Stars can be ascribed to a 1-1 draw and a 2-1 win over Uganda and DR Congo respectively. Stars performed impressively over the two countries which are highly ranked than Kenya late last month, during the international break late last month.

Benjamin Okumbi’s side, currently enjoying a ten-match unbeaten streak, is 16th in Africa and second in east Africa after Uganda which is placed at position 72 globally.

Tanzania leaped 22 countries to sit on 135 in the world.

The Pharaohs, still lead in Africa and have climbed 19th on global ranking. Senegal is second in the continent, while AFCON 2017 champions, Cameroon are third. Burkina Faso and Nigeria are fourth and fifth respectively.

Brazil, the first team to qualify for 2018 World Cup in Russia, has reclaimed the top spot, the mean last achieved in 2010. The Samba Boys have knocked Argentina who dropped to the second place.

World Cup winners, Germany are third while Chile and Colombia complete the best of five in the world in that order.
