The biggest reason why doctors wont receive a salary increment

When one party breaches a contract, the other has a responsibility to act in good faith by upholding her end of the bargain as much as possible.

If the other party decides “well, if you will not do what you promised then neither will I,” she may find later that the “unclean hands” rule prevents her from enforcing the contract against the person who breached it.

Now, according to Employment and Labour Relations Judge Hellen Wasilwa, Dr. Ouma Oluga faces jail for standing up to governors and their agents against unfair remuneration and working conditions. Governors believe that, as watchmen for health, asking for affirmative action is despicable.

Dr. Ouma Oluga Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union Secretary General faces jail for arguing that his team is not giving Kenyans quality healthcare.

That his doctors operate more by faith because resources for drugs and other supplies were carelessly used to go for benchmarking trips to China, Iran, Afghanistan. That our equipment is old school, drugs substandard and buildings archaic.

Dr. Samuel Oroko Obegi, the union Chairman faces jail for saying that more doctors need to be employed to deal with a growing population with more complex conditions like diabetes, hypertension, cancer, complications of violence and road traffic accidents. The government of Kenya prefers Indian and Cuban doctors.

Dr. Daisy Korir, the treasurer, faces jail for arguing that it's not good to practice old school medicine in this day and age. That we need robust homegrown and collaborative research to offer better services. The Jubilee government believes only foreigners from India and Cuba can find answers for our own problems.

Dr. Mwachonda Chibanzi, the Deputy Secretary General is supposed to rot in jail for demanding for further professional development of doctors to meet new challenges and use modern techniques. The government believes old is gold.

Dr. Kaugiria Thuranira, the Nairobi region KMPDU chairman, is supposed to commune with hardened criminals for insisting that modern organizational development principles elevate human resource to the core of systems and process re-engineering. Something Kenya really needs, more than dead brick and mortar. The government thinks he is sick.

Two more young talented and transformative doctors are to be pooled with pickpockets from Huruma for wanting the 2013 doctors' CBA, the document that captures that above mentioned issues, implemented. The government thinks these two and the rest of us are in the same lot with pickpockets and muggers, sharing a common selfish deviant or thievish thread.

Surprisingly, we cannot send a chopper on time to rescue the desperate, brutalized, injured dying Kenyans or pay the emergency Medical respondents.

It is to have well-connected women carry sackloads of money meant for poor desperate child-bearing women in labor wards to their palatial homes instead of sending it by RTGS to poor and deserving government hospitals.

It is pompously ridiculous to have overweight, overfed people run and collect money from the poor and big thieves. So collected funds are meant for services that would easily improve with careful management of what we have collected in taxes or aid and allocated for services meant for the poor.

You know you are on your own when MPs on holiday return to reverse a progressive elections law and refuse to give ear to your views or create a progressive law to guard against backward essential medical services in the nation.

Today you will see entropy unfolding in the health sector.
we all need to arise to fight for our health, our lives, our nation.
