JOHO: I do not need security, I am safer than before.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho drove himself to Bomas of Kenya where opposition leaders gathered for the NASA launch.

The Governor has said he feels safe and does not require the security detail withdrawn from his company in what has been termed as police involvement in politics.

"I used to drive myself and I will be driving myself henceforth. We should end the conversation on my security detail for I am safe and not in need of security guards," said Joho.

Joho has insisted that he stands for the truth and does not amount to disrespecting the presidency as reported.

He revealed that he will seek the presidency in 2022 after his second term as governor when re-elected this year.

He said Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar had found a political opportunity in the withdrawal of his security personnel terming his remarks as unrealistic as he could not have 35 armed guards as the Senator had alleged.
