A note to the ladies: are you the practice woman or the wife?
By Raynne Mathai | Updated Sep 06, 2016 at 14:41 EAT

So, I was reading some article the other day and it got me thinking of how relationships are complicated. I mean ladies, how do you know if you are in the right relationship? How are you supposed to know that a guy is just using you? How will you know just how much you should offer in that relationship? How will you know that he sees something special about you?

Now, the article I read stated that there are men who get bored with some types of women. How am I supposed to know that? The plain truth is that you may be flirting like every other woman, holding the same conversations as any other woman, read the same relationship advice and try similar tricks as any other woman. This is because you are obsessed with being loved just like any other woman. Men will always play along with that but not for long. Apparently, no man is hard to figure out, no man is emotionally unavailable, and no man is unready to settle down. When a man says that he is not looking for something serious, it means ‘not looking for anything serious with you.’

There are two types of women: The Practice Woman and The Wife. Complicated right? I mean all ladies want to be ‘The Wife’. How are you supposed to know that you are just the practice one? Note that, even as the practice one, the man will date you, sleep with you, even be in a relationship with you but you are not what he really wants.

I mean, who wants to be the practice woman? How and what are you supposed to do to be the Wife? I think women need to change their game, how? I still do not know yet.

Why can’t relationships be like when you want a certain shoe, you know those nice and fashionable heels? You just walk in to a boutique; choose them, and you happen to disapprove. You do not have to worry about waking up the next day with a text message from the shoes saying “I think we need a break” or “I don’t think I can do this anymore” or even “I think I’m in love with someone else.” The shoes will always be loyal and there for you. I mean, where is the manual on how and whom to date?
