Let's celebrate Rudisha and team

We salute and congratulate 800m champion David Rudisha for winning gold in the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics.

Rudisha and other gold medallists have really made our country proud and brought immense honour and respect to Kenya.

This magnificent and colourful performance by our athletic heroes should not be taken for granted.

Now, as we wait for more gold medals, the Government, sponsors and other players should think of increasing the Sh1 million award that every gold medallist was promised.

This golden generation of athletes comprises our greatest ambassadors, as the publicity generated worldwide cannot be quantified in terms of money, hence the need to recognise and reward them accordingly.

Rudisha is a hero. His brilliant performance and style of running was simply awesome.

As a result, he'll definitely go into history books as one of the greatest, most colourful and finest athletes of all time.

Meanwhile, the officials who mismanaged our athletes travel arrangements ashould not only be prosecuted but also banned.
