I think dating in Campus was silly

I did my A levels at St. Hannah’s in Uganda, after which I joined Kenya School of Professional Studies to study Marketing. I loved my time in campus, mostly because it was a period when the pressure was off; my parents were taking care of me, so life was stress free. Of course, there were also campus guys eager to impress, who would go out of their way to spoil the ladies, so we enjoyed a few free lunches and parties in our time.

I liked marketing as a unit, partly because it taught me about opportunities and entrepreneurship. Economics was my worst course.

On matters dating, looking back now, I think dating in campus was silly. You had to find a guy who understood you, like you. I dated a guy who was hard working and caring; he made sure I had everything I needed, which is actually a big deal in campus.

I was a regular broke campus girl, so my friends and I only went out when we could. We would mostly go to places around campus, or attend parties within school. We were hustlers, and would sometimes entertain ourselves in our rooms. I always have this feeling that I didn’t fully actualise my time at school, because I was still unsure about the course I was doing. I’m actually planning to go back. I’m older and more sure about the path I want to take.
