The society should give a break to the pastors

It seems that the topic of vague pastors is the trending topic for bloggers who want to gain traffic, or in short if someone wants to remain relevant then they will simply recycle, rinse hang and wear the same topic. What do these writers have to gain by name calling pastors? As far as my communication lectures go, the propaganda of name calling is usually implemented by persons with no agenda. So when the mind has nothing sane, it is a fertile ground for the devil to work on.

The person responsible for the Christian faith is Jesus Christ and He called the Pharisees whitewashed tombstones. He advised the people to listen to what their teachers said but not do as they do. The Apostle Paul said we should look to Christ the author and finisher of our faith. So the question is, where does your faith start and finish?  The way these bloggers write shows a limited knowledge of the scriptures yet even the devil can quote them or they simply quote what suits their cause. The book of Phillipians says that even if there are false prophets preaching with their selfish reasons, it does not matter, Jesus still gets a commercial break( by the way that verse made me stop judging some funny gospel songs).

As a Christian, I understand that my pastor is human, he is not the perfect lamb of sacrifice, he is a man with a wife and kids. Secondly, my pastor is real, he never minces his words, oh yes and he backs it up with the word and I go back to the Bible just like the Christians in Berea. My pastor gives me the word that serves me on earth while on my way to heaven. Have you ever seen Hindu temples, let alone mosques or Buddhist temples? Those buildings are huge and lay on huge tracts of land plus they cost a decade of millions and you expect me to build Jehovah a mabati shed roofed with asbestos? Please excuse me, I cannot be the laughing stock of people who do not believe in the wonder working power of Jesus.

So you call pastors prosperity preachers. The Apostle Paul prayed that we may prosper in all things. The bible says a righteous man leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren. So why should I not be rich? Afterall God is the one who gives power to make wealth. Job was the richest man in the East but later on his kids died, I bet these bloggers would have labeled him Illuminati. Abraham would have been caught sacrificing Issac and oh my goodness he would be the headliner, ‘ Senior Mason Leader begged to Sacrifice Ram instead of Son’. Solomon was wealthy in riches and in bed.

You see, I listen to a man who has made me realize, that God is not glorified in poverty or in wealth because all these are just nothing. Indeed it is hard for a rich man to enter heaven and the love of money is the root of evil but the moment you come to the understanding that God is too big to be identified by our limited understanding of what is true wealth, you will not judge a pastor who is wealthy. Afterall why should sheikhs in Dubai and the Agakhan enjoy great wealth while my pastor walks in oversized suits and begs on the street? Is that how these bloggers bring glory to their God?

Malachi 3, God tells us to pay tithes and He shall open the storehouses of heaven. We should pay tithe and give offerings. So what if a pastor spends it on a huge lifestyle, I will not ask him for I know my redeemer liveth. The sons of Eli used to steal what was meant for God and boy did they get a whooping from God, God deals with His generals.  He infact buried Moses and scolded Elijah. At the same time, when you make a promise to God, keep it. Ananias and Saphira made a promise but lied and died.

So it is your choice, listen to your pastor then go read the word to see if he was saying the truth. The bloggers do not have the final say, your bible contains the living words, bloggers and idlers shall too pass away but the Word will stand. Do as your pastor says and not as they do and on Sunday I will be in church hoping that you will see the truth.
