The recent spate of killings of innocent Kenyans is alarming. Indeed it’s quite disgusting when we receive news of people missing and later found dumped in a thicket. To add salt to an injury is when we hear the main suspect to have carried out the judicial killings are those whom we trust most our ‘security personnel’.
The contagion effect has been trending like a burning bush where people are reported missing and later on to be found tortured and dumped. This case needs to be condemned with the harshest terms possible. No Kenyan is above the law and we are all equal in the eyes of our Maker. No one is supposed to take one’s life.
The massive extra judicial killings should stop and the culprits face the law with severe punishment being imposed on them to serve as an example of those planning to do the evil act.
It is saddening when we lose innocent and educated Kenyans in an untimely death. Families are experiencing hurtful moments on receiving the news.
In my opinion it is better we do away with the Al-Shabaab militia who are the great threat in our country and first deal with our security officers as the saying goes, “it is better to have an enemy who honestly says they hate you than to have a friend who is putting you down secretly”.
We have heard lots of incidents of people who have been tortured and finally murdered the worst is when the matter is taken to court and as a result lack of evidence prevail. If we want our country to be free from the extra judicial killings, then justice must be adhered. Let justice be our shield and defender, it should defend every person in our country.
Justice should be instantaneous, in most occurrences we hear a case on extra judicial killings taking more than 5 years and finally suspects are released due to lack of evidence. The institution of justice should be on the fore front in practicing fairness to all. They should also be reminded of a saying that states “justice delayed is justice denied”.
I really stand firm to cry for justice with other Kenyans to curb killings in our country, let us all rise up and condemn this vice.
We need to unmask the ruthless and worthless policemen who are bloodthirsty and are not upholding their duties with integrity and respect.
In conclusion I quote the last stanza of our National Anthem which states that “let all with one accord in common bond united, Build this our nation together and the Glory of Kenya, The fruit of our labor fill every heart with Thanksgiving”.
