US files advisory that Kenyan airspace is unsafe

It comes as a disappointing revelation that the United States has filed an advisory with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) that the Kenyan airspace is unsafe.

Actually, Kenya is the only other stable country other than Saudi Arabia that has been listed as having dangerous airspace. USA has grouped our country with countries like Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.

In the IATA advisory, the USA alluded that there was a possibility of extremist or militant activity within Kenyan airspace as Al Shabaab has demonstrated the capability and intent to conduct terrorist attacks in Kenya targeting, among others, US/Western interests including aviation interests.

This position directly supports the Kenyan government prime reason for closing the Somalia refugee camps.

It is therefore doublespeak for the US to oppose the Kenya government efforts to deal with the terrorist problem yet on the other hand claim that Kenya was unsafe due to terrorism.
