Stars' coach made a big blunder

Harambee Stars’ new coach Stanley Okumbi started on the wrong footing after falling 1-0 to Guinea Bissau in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2017 qualifier on Wednesday.

Okumbi, who is the former Kariobangi Sharks coach, made a blunder on his first major assignment. For instance, Okumbi included two players from Kariobangi Sharks, a team with a poor ranking in the league. The players had no experience in national games.

The same thing happened when former Harambee Stars coach Zedekiah Otieno, who once played for Gor Mahia, included more than five K’O galo players in the national squad.

This clearly shows the bias that is going on between our coaches in the national team.

Let our coaches make their selections based on individual performance and not how ‘related’ they are in the field.
