Friends School Kamusinga wins as Onjiko falls in basketball

Kenya teams registered mixed results in basketball 3x3 as the race to win the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association (FEASSSA) games in Rwanda continued on Monday.

National boys champion Onjiko High School lost for the first time since the games began in the sub-county level after going down 21-8 to ITS Gasabo from Rwanda.

On Sunday, Onjiko saw off Timbila 12-10 to kick off the round-robin matches on the front foot but now has to work even harder in the remaining four matches against Friends School Kamusinga, Buddo Secondary School from Uganda, Hope School, and Seroma Christian High.

FSK who lost 16-12 to Hope Secondary School on Sunday bounced back to hammer Timbila 10-8.

In the girl’s category, national champions Ototo Mixed Secondary School and Butere Girls lost their second match in a row.

Ototo went down to 18-11 to Ecole from Rwanda before losing 22-12 to St Mary’s Kitende yesterday. Butere Girls on the other hand submitted to Nabisunsa from Uganda 15-9 after losing 15-4 to Sseku Secondary on Sunday.

In handball, St Joseph Girls Kitale saw off Kiziguro from Rwanda 24-19 in Group B where St. Joseph's Miranga from Kenya lost 39-16 to Gombe from Uganda on Sunday.

On Monday, however, St Joseph Kitale went down 15-13 to Miranga.

In boy’s handball, Mbooni hit Bombo Army from Uganda 27-18 as Kakungulu from Uganda picked a 31-23 win over Kenya’s Hospital Hill. Manyatta also lost 22-33 ES Kigoma from Rwanda.
