Kenyan athletes star at Commonwealth Youth Games

Team Kenya produced a remarkable performance in various disciplines on the second day of the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

In the swimming, Sara Mose finished first in heat three of the girls' 50m butterfly event, while Akier Mutinda showcased his dedication by achieving a personal best time.

Kenya beach volleyball duo of Abigail Chebet and Sharon Jepkogei secured a quarter-finals berth after beating hosts Trinidad and Tobago in their second match of the tournament.

In rugby, Young Lionesses bounced back from their defeat against Fiji to trounce Wales 20-12. Kenya face Trinidad and Tobago in their next fixture.

In Individual super sprint distance, Kenyan athletes Iman Maria and Abdul Bagha finished 20th (44:09) and 24th (38:14) respectively.

In the women’s Individual super sprint distance, Kenya’s Iman Maria finished 20th in a time of 44:09 while in the men’s category Abdul Bagha came in 24th clocking 38:14 minutes.
