One last dance: Kiza Lounge mourns co-founder in style

Celebrities, entrepreneurs and revellers will hold a tribute night in honor of popular city club Kulture Lounge, formerly Kiza lounge, on Galana plaza, to celebrate the life of one of its founders Lukman Akanbi.
Lukman passed on January 12, 2023 after a long battle with polycystic disease. Kulture's owner Ali Oumarou said it was only fit for the club to celebrate his life in a style just like he lived his life.
"Besides being a great husband, father, uncle, mentor and business magnate, he was a people's person and we had to grant his close friends their wish," Ali told The Nairobian.
An accomplished business coach, he mingled with local personalities and had a key role in the success of the Kiza franchise in Kenya, Dubai and Toronto. Lukman was eulogized as an impactful influencer who had a hand in many artists careers under the Kiza music label.
The music label in which his daughter, Canadian based singer Tome is signed to, comprised artist management, production and distribution of content. The brand largely works with youth focused empowerment ventures that promote fashion, music, arts and African culture till date.
Tome wrote."This loss is not only my own or my direct family as he was family to so many. He is one of the greatest man I know."
Sauti Sol's Bien Aime joined numerous artists who consoled with his family's fraternity saying, "May he rest well. He was such a dope dude."
