Widow of the late Tanzanian billionaire Reginald Mengi is counting losses after their palatial home in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania was hit by floods currently causing havoc in the region.
Jacqueline Ntuyabaliwe Mengi, the award-winning furniture designer and beauty queen shared a video of the damage inside her home, caused by the ongoing floods in Tanzania, explaining that she had lost not only valuable things but also items of sentimental value which reminded her and her twins, of the late business tycoon.
Jacqueline is Chairperson of Amorette Ltd a furniture design and manufacturing company and Founder and Chairman of Dr Ntuyabaliwe Foundation a charity organization which provides libraries and books to local primary schools
In a long Instagram post, Jacqueline said the videos were a mere drop in the ocean of the total loss the family has suffered.

The former Miss Tanzania and singer previously known as K-Lynn added that she had cried for losing especially the things that reminded her of her late husband. But despite the loss, Jacqueline said they have memories stored in their hearts and minds, adding that, they are also grateful to be alive.
Reginald and Jacqueline got married on March 28, 2015 in a colourful wedding held in Mauritius. Reginald Mengi died in 2019 after a short illness, leaving property including IPP Media Group which owns 11 newspapers, radio and television stations and internet properties.
Tanzania has recently been hit by a wave of flash floods caused by ongoing heavy rains in the region,
and Dar es Salaam has been the worst hit. So far 12 people have lost their lives in the floods.
According to different news sources, the Tanzania Meteorological Authority issued weather
alerts warning residents of Dar es Salaam to brace themselves for more rains in the coming
days.
