Poor farmers miss out on subsidised fertiliser

A recent study on subsidised fertiliser programme launched by government in 2007 has showed that farm inputs intended for poor farmers were distributed to farmers with access to commercial fertiliser market.

The project dubbed- National Accelerated Agricultural Input Access Programme targeting smallholder farmers has been criticised in a study conducted by Egerton University’s Tegemeo Institute.
