Mororo: The town with more phones than toilets

Residents of Mororo, a semi informal township, sitting on the banks of River Tana have been challenged to build toilets for better hygiene and sanitation.  

Many of the 6,840 residents living in 1,078 households have phones, yet they have less 114 pit latrines. Some locals, surprisingly, claim it is costly to build latrines while others associate pit latrines with witchcraft.
