Diet takes care of my skin

My daily skin care routine involves…

Drinking around three litres of water every day. I drink a litre of water mixed with two big spoons of apple cider vinegar then the rest of day is spent drinking sparkling water. I love the taste of sparkling water. I then wash my face with Activated Charcoal Soap by Bu.kè using a body scrub glove. The glove works much better than a face towel. I tone using Nivea’s Mattifying Toner with Natural Ocean Algae and Hydra IQ, then Moisturise with Bio Oil and apply sun cream. I scrub my lips as well with sugar and coconut oil mix to keep them moisturised and whenever I am out in the sun, I use the Sun Dance sunscreen.

My diet includes…

One full meal once a day which is usually around 4pm. I don’t eat carbs after this time and before I sleep I have a light meal. Depending on the day I have had, will either have some tea, wine or gin and tonic. I also consume lots of Kericho Gold and Liptons herbal teas. They are fantastic with honey. For breakfast, I always have strawberry yogurt and fruit muesli. During the day, I snack on whatever I want but it is mostly banana crisps, dried mangoes or something with chocolate.

I take green juice at least three times a week and I try to eat white instead of red meat. I take supplements and water religiously and I’m starting to replace sugar with honey in my tea. I don’t eat white bread, eggs or drink fresh milk or soda. I am currently slowly weaning myself off white chapati.

My favourite homemade mask is…

The honey mask. I do honey masks after steaming my face. I simply apply honey and let it sit for a while. It leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised.

I have recently fallen in love with…

Bu.kè’s Bentonite Clay and Sage Soap. They so gentle and moisturising on my face. Bentonite clay tightens my pores unbelievably. I love Micellar Cleansing Water. Besides removing makeup, it reduces break outs and blemishes. I also use the Hydra Bomb Tissue Mask by Garnier as it gives me a great healthy glow.
