House servant pretending to be a girl is caught pants down

When it comes to drama, Umoja Innercore in Nairobi never disappoints. Last week, residents of the area were treated to another stage show.

A boy from the coast, who had managed to dupe his boss for three months that he was a house girl, was literally caught with his pants down.

The boy, aware that the chances of a man being employed as a house help were minimal, pretended he was a woman and donned a buibui to conceal his sex.

The employer, a Mrs Fatuma, says she was desperately searching for a house help when she bumped into Amina, or rather Ali, at a kiosk and he told her he was looking for a job.

Ali, who has soft female features and wore a buibui, cooked up a story about how he had just arrived from the coast and was an orphan in urgent need of a job.

Mrs Fatuma was touched by his story and offered to employ him immediately.

He spoke to me politely and with respect and I felt sorry for him. He was dressed in a buibui and looked like a pretty girl," says the shocked woman.

Mrs Fatuma, who has two sons, did not smell a rat because for the three months Ali lived with her, he proved himself worthy and the children doted on him.

So how did she discover that the young ‘woman’ was actually a man?

The single woman says that his sons, who are aged three and four, had noticed something weird about Ali but whenever they told their mother about it she never took notice.

She always dismissed them or did not take interest in what they were saying.

The boys would often report, "Mum, we saw Amina urinating like a man." It seems Ali would forget to close the washroom door and the cheeky boys would spy on him.

But one day Mrs Fatuma, who is a trader in Gikomba market, found Ali in the toilet helping himself while standing like a man.

The woman had left early as usual for work, but forgot something in the house and came back around 10am and found the boys playing outside the plot and the door wide open.

As she made way to the bedroom, she spotted Ali doing his thing in the washroom and that is when she went berserk and alerted neighbours.

Another job

Thinking that robbers were attacking her, the curious neighbours rushed to her rescue and that is when they discovered what was happening.

The angry neighbours wanted to lynch Ali after hearing how he had duped his employer that he was a woman, but Mrs Fatuma pleaded with them to spare him because other than lying, he was a loyal servant and the children loved him.

When Ali was questioned on why he had lied to his employer, he explained that he was desperate for a job yet no one wanted him because he was a man. That is why he decided to pretend to be a woman.

Ali was given bus fare and told to go back to Mombasa to look for another job.
