There was a trade fair in Narok at Olerai farm organized to offer a unique opportunity to all manufacturers and distributors of agricultural machinery, products and services to exhibit as well as demonstrate their vast range of products to the farmers. This enabled farmers in the region to view interactive demonstrations of an exhaustive range of machinery and paraphernalia to establish their performance and effectiveness.

The Trade fair was attended by the Narok Governor Samuel Ole Kuntai, Ministry of Agriculture officials and thousands of farmers provided farmers with a podium to get insights and ideas on the latest farming technology. Quipbank Trust Limited through its product Tinga, a company that supports agriculture sponsored the exhibition, not only to showcase the company and its service, but also to educate farmers and also join in in the debate as it supports solutions to topical agricultural problems affecting Africa.

QuipBank’s Regional General Manager Ms. Jennifer Syombua speaking during the event said that the Kenyan youth and women should not dream of success but they should wake up from stupor and work hard as their future is in their hands. Jennifer added that women who are not afraid to dirty their hands are the people who will determine the future of this country.

Tinga, a short term rental arm of Quipbank, has been of great help to farmers that cannot buy the machines but just want to plough, harrow, and plant or harvest their farms. Tinga is currently engaged in promoting latest technology in farming and educating farmers in various parts of the country on mechanized farming.  Tinga has introduced no till farming technology, which means the farmer does not have to plough or Harrow. It is the state of the art that does all that and plants at the same time by a single passage of a tractor and farmers are able to save millions in the process; saving the farmers Ksh. 3,000 per acre which they would have spent on ploughing and harrowing.
