Kenya Medical Training College campus in need of permanent staff

The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Nyamira campus is faced with staff shortage. College Principal Peterson Ongeri said currently, the college relies on county health staff to teach the students on a temporary basis.

The principal has called for the Ministry of Health's intervention to ensure the college has permanent staff. The college started about four years ago, and has more than 400 students pursuing nursing and clinical medicine at a diploma level.

Mr Ongeri, however, assured the public that the shortage of lecturers was not in any way affecting learning but said having permanent staff would ensure service delivery was effectively sustained.
