Hubby in court for abusing father-in-law

A businessman has moved to court to sue his son-in-law for allegedly sending him a chain of abusive text messages.

Albert Lumasi accused Alex Litu, his son in-law, of sending him more than ten short text messages including asking him to marry his own daughter who is the wife of the accused.

Litu faces the misuse of telecommunication gadget charge on diverse dates between December 2015 and early January 2016. On December 2, 2015 for instance, Litu allegedly sent a text to the complainant partly translated from Kiswahili to mean “now that you’re supporting your daughter whenever she reports anything, just take her and  make her your second wife also let her practice prostitution and share the proceeds”.

On the same day he allegedly sent another text message reading, “if you are the one who slept and impregnated your daughter continue staying with the child, but I want to take care of the kid”.

According to police, Litu also insulted his father-in-law, calling him a fool and a prostitute. 

Litu’s wife ran away to her parents following a quarrel with her husband in October 2015 after Litu allegedly threatened to kill her. Her father advised her to stay at home until the suspect showed up to solve the matter, but he started sending abusive texts.

Her father  reported the matter to the police on December 19 but Litu vanished. Litu denied the charge and was set free on Sh50,000 bail and surety bond of similar amount. His trial begins on  July 27.
