Parent flies in to share in daughter's joy

Sherry Amondi of Gilgil Hills Academy emerged the second best pupil in the school with a score of 439 marks. Her father, Moses Were, flew in from Lagos, Nigeria where he works as an expatriate to celebrate with her.

"My aspiration is to become a civil engineer once I complete my secondary education," Amondi said.

She hopes to join Kenya High School. Mr Were who is a supply chain management expert took a flight to Nairobi in anticipation of his daughter's good performance. Her mother, Janet Were, said her daughter has always been disciplined throughout her primary education and hopes to extend that to her secondary and university level.

Onduso Felistas Osebe was the top pupil at the school with a score of 445 marks, which ensured the institution recorded a mean score of 419.81. The third pupil at the school, Kopere Tom Oduo, scored 437 marks and hopes to join either Alliance High School or Maseno School.

"My hope is to become a computer engineer in future and join the world of polished researchers," said Oduo.
