Three quarterfinal matches were decided on penalty shootouts as the Chief of Defence Forces Cup Championships reached the knockout stages at different venues in Lanet, Nakuru, yesterday.

Sixth Brigade, Rangers Regiment and Nairobi Garrisons romped into the semifinals after deadlocks in extra time.

Sixth Brigade edged stubborn Kahawa Garrisons 4-2 on postmatch penalties at Kenya Military Academy.

Rangers Regiment made it to the last four after they whipped Armoured Brigade 5-4 also on penalties after a one-all draw in normal and extra time.

In the final quarterfinal played at 81Tank Battalion Grounds, Kenya Navy Mtongwe also surged into the semifinals after stopping Laikipia Airbase 1-0 thanks to Mohammed Kheri's strike in the 83rd minute.

Kenya Navy Mtongwe will now face-off with Nairobi Garrisons tomorrow at 81 Tank Battalion Grounds while Sixth Brigade play Rangers Regiment in the second semi-final at the same venue.
