Susan Stokes made a resounding comeback as she clinched the overall 2017 Nyali golf club’s Lady Captain (Joyce Masai) title at the club’s par 71 course in Mombasa at the weekend.

The handicap 8 home golfer carded an excellent 19 differential points to emerge the overall winner after posting 38 nett in the medal ford format in the first nine and 19 points in the stable ford’s second nine.

Stokes began on the wrong footing in the first nine playing two level pars and a mixed bogey shots.

Her woes continued in the back nine as she added four more bogeys and a scratch at the final shortest par three 18th hole, but recovered at the par four 13th hole by sinking a rare birdie and played two level pars to claim the title.

This victory earned her a chance to play golf at the par 73 Studley Wood Golf Club course in Oxfordshire countryside near Bicester Village in South England.

This was part of the event’s sponsorship from Ken Heathcote.
