Chelsea could be set to cash in on defender Andreas Christensen as Borussia Monchengladbach look to make his loan move permanent.

The Germans landed the 20-year-old on a two-year loan deal last summer and after impressing this season, Gladback are in talks over a £15.2million switch.

But the Blues are only likely to sanction a deal for the centre-back if it includes a buy-back clause, as they have high hopes that the youngster can be a long-term replacement for John Terry in the heart of the Stamford Bridge defence.
