FOOTBALL: Tusker earn big from KPL campaign fund

Tusker FC were the biggest winners of the inaugural Tusker Jenga Game promotion that was largely dominated by the KPL teams. The ten-time KPL champions emerged tops after their fans contributed Sh704,950 in last year’s three-month national campaign, beating Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards who walked away with a cheque of Sh 584,912 and Sh 547,840 respectively.
This was announced on Thursday by East African Breweries Limited’s brand Tusker when they handed over a total of Sh 2.75 million to the football and rugby clubs that participated in the campaign.
Thika United managed to get Sh150,004, Sofapaka pocketed Sh142,090, followed by Mathare United (Sh76,946), KCB got Sh132,256, while KRA got Sh 54,964 richer with Ulinzi Stars and Bandari receiving Sh49,764 and Sh36,170 each.
