Mbungo urges Bandari strikers to be more ruthless ahead of Sofapaka game

Bandari coach Andre Mbungo has urged his troops to sharpen up on their finishing ahead of Tuesday’s FKF Premier League match against former champions Sofapaka.

“We have not been scoring in the last five matches and significant improvement will be required especially by the strikers,” Mbungo said after his side’s 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars at Mbaraki Sports Club on Wednesday.

The former AFC Leopards coach knows it will not be a walk in the park for the dockers when they travel to Wundanyi Stadium next week.

“There is plenty to work on going into the next match. We have been shooting blanks but we have no option but to improve on our striking force in order to score goals,” said Mbungo.

Bandari have so far garnered 19 points from ten matches, six points behind league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.

But Mbungo appears to be motivated with the return of the trio of Abdallah Hassan, Chris Ochieng and Benjamin Mosha from injuries.

“It is only Darius Msagha who is out of action. He is expected to resume training next week,” said the coach.

Just like Mbungo, Ulinzi head coach Stephen Ocholla blamed his team’s blunt attack for the defeat.
