The Icelandic model who met Mason Greenwood in England's team hotel has told how he and Phil Foden made an unusual request before sneaking her cousin in as well.

Nadia Gunnarsdottir said she and Greenwood met on a dating app while the Manchester United star was in Iceland after making his England debut.

Greenwood and Manchester City ace Foden breached Covid-19 protocols by meeting Nadia and her cousin Lara Clausen in a hotel in Reykjavik the day after the Three Lions 1-0 win.

The pair were axed by boss Gareth Southgate, fined £1,360 each and sent home in disgrace, with both having also been reprimanded by their clubs.

Both players have apologised for the incident - but Greenwood has landed in more hot water after he was filmed appearing to inhale 'hippy crack'.

Now Nadia, 20, has opened up on her "heated" night with 18-year-old Greenwood.

“Mason kissed me and things got pretty heated," said Nadia, a Miss Universe Iceland finalist last year, in an interview with The Sun.

“He was certainly not as shy physically as he was socially Yes, things happened. But I don’t want to go into detail."

Nadia said she connected with Greenwood on a dating app, and received a message from him at around 9.20pm on September 5 - hours after the striker had made his international bow.

She told how she and Greenwood chatted online the following day and arranged to meet up in the Radisson, after the United star told her he couldn't leave the hotel, where the England squad had booked an entire floor.

She said she booked online, and was dropped off by her cousin, make-up artist Lara.

Nadia said: “I had googled Mason and checked his Instagram so knew who he was and that he played for United and had played against Iceland for England.

“I said I would come and booked a room and then he showed up with Phil, and I didn’t know who he was.

“Mason said, ‘Do you have a friend?’ I said, ‘Yeah the one who dropped me off.’"

Nadia said she then phoned Lara and invited her back to the hotel - and said Greenwood and Foden asked if she could bring sweets.

Lara returned to the Radisson with Sour Patch Kids sweets and Icelandic Vegan Tritlar fruit-flavoured jellies.

“Lara was in a shopping centre so got them the candy they asked for," said Nadia.

“We all chilled together. Mason ate virtually the whole packet of Tritlar and Phil had some too."

Lara, 19, has told how she met up with Foden after also booking a room at the Radisson, describing the 20-year-old City star as "a good kisser".

Nadia said: “We could hear them laughing and having fun next door.

“Mason tried to call Phil and he didn’t pick up so Mason went into their room.

“He took some videos of them, including of Phil kissing Lara on the cheek and holding hands.

“Mason also had a video of Lara in her underwear.”

Nadia said Greenwood and Foden returned to their own rooms at around 3am - and she and Lara were woken up at 6am by hotel staff demanding to know where the players were.

She also revealed that hotel staff had told her two women had been thrown out of the hotel for trying to meet up with players the previous night.

The scandal around the England pair erupted after an Icelandic newspaper published photos and videos uploaded to Snapchat - including a picture of Foden with his pants halfway down and his backside exposed.

Nadia said: "Yes, of course they were irresponsible. But I guess it was also irresponsible of us to go and meet people from another country.

"I feel sorry for them — I feel bad for everything that has happened. But their careers are just starting and are not ruined.”

Both Nadia and Lara have insisted they didn't leak the photos or videos, although the latter said she had shared them with close friends on social media.

Greenwood and Foden have both since apologised for their conduct, and are unlikely to be picked by Southgate for England's internationals in October.
