Brooklyn resumed their fate in the play-offs race, still undecided in the East, winning in Milwaukee (133-128) on Saturday.

The Nets stopped the bleeding with the way: while they had lost four of their previous five games, they beat the best team in the 2018-19 Championship on his home turf.

Milwaukee was, it is true, deprived of his best player Giannis Antetokounmpo, left at rest, and has nothing to gain at the end of the regular season.

Four days before the end of the regular season, the Bucks are sure to finish with the best record (59 v-21 d) and start each series of playoffs, including the final in case of qualification, by two home games, an often decisive advantage.

Antetokounmpo, competing for the best player of the season trophy (MVP) with Houston star James Harden, missed only his ninth game of the season.

"Since we've had a lot of success lately, it's been easy to get him to rest a bit, especially since he has a contracture on his calf. told him that he would not play and that was hard to accept for him, "said coach Mike Bundenholzer.

Without Antetokounmpo nor Nikola Mirotic and Malcolm Brogdon, Milwaukee was quickly outdistanced by Brooklyn.

Despite a jump in the second period, the Bucks failed to master D'Angelo Russell and Caris Levert, who scored respectively 25 and 24 points.

"Even without Giannis, it's a tough team to beat, but we really needed that win," said Brooklyn veteran Jared Dudley, who scored 14 of his 16 points after the break.

Thanks to this success, Brooklyn returned to 6th place in the conference (40 v-40 d) with the same record as Orlando (7th) and only one victory ahead of Detroit (8th, 39v-40d)).

Two other teams can still aim for a ticket for the playoffs, Miami (9th, 38 v-41d) and Charlotte (10th, 37v-42d) who respectively have two and three wins behind Brooklyn, with a match more to play.

In the other match of the day, Philadelphia, already qualified for the playoffs, won in Chicago 116 to 96.

Joel Embiid scored 20 points and 10 rebounds in 28 minutes.

Only two games were scheduled for Saturday, dominated in the United States by the Final Four of the University Championship (NCAA).
