Liverpool’s Emre can to sign new contract worth pay rise

Emre Can

Liverpool have opened contract talks with Emre Can over new and improved terms.

Can, 22, impressed last season for Liverpool and boss Jurgen Klopp wants to reward him for his progress.

The versatile Germany international still has two years left on the four-year agreement he signed when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and he will be offered a pay rise and a longer deal.

Can is part of Joachim Low's star-studded squad at Euro 2016 and Liverpool are keen to tie him down to Anfield with a new deal.

Both sides hope talks can progress smoothly and that Can will sign his new contract before the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
