Arsenal have reportedly earmarked Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly as the man they want to fix their defence.

An unsettled back four contributed to the Gunners’ poor season as they finished sixth in the Premier League.

Koulibaly has spent four years in Naples, narrowly missing out on the Serie A title this season to Juventus.

And according to the Daily Express, the dominant defender is on the Gunners' radar - but could cost as much as £50million.

The 26-year-old from Senegal has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the past but has so far reissted a switch away from Italy.

Whether he can be tempted to sign for a club not in next season's Champions League however, remains to be seen.

Arsenal are in pole position to sign in demand Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri ahead of Manchester Cty, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Ivory Coast ace Seri is available for £35million this summer thanks to a release clause in the 26-year-old's contract.

And the Gunners are in a strong position to bag Seri due to his agent's strong relationship with new head of football relations Raul Sanllehi, according to L'Equipe.

Sanllehi was extremely close to luring Seri to Barcelona last summer, when he was a member of the board at the Nou Camp.
