Kibra Girls Soccer are the 2021-2022 FKF Women Division one champion.

The Slum Queens have crowned champions after defeating Royal Starlets 5-4 on post-match penalties after the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time at the Nakuru Showgrounds on Sunday.

Cynthia Okwado gave Kibra the lead in the opening stages of the game before Agneta Makonjo restored parity for a 1-1 draw at halftime.

In the final half, Pauline Atieno restored Kibra’s one-goal advantage before Caren Wakoli levelled the scores once again to send the game to penalties.

Kibra Girls would emerge on top after converting all their spot kicks to be crowned Division One League heavyweights.

Royal Starlets and Kibra Girls Soccer topped Zone 'A' and 'B' respectively which forced the playoff finals to determine the winner.

Kibra Girls Soccer were awarded Sh50000 plus a trophy as an accolade for the win.

They will be joined by Royal Starlets courtesy of finishing as runners-up.

At the same time, Moving The Goalpost (MTG) United also sealed their promotion to the top-tier women’s league after a 2-1 win over Gideon Starlets FC at the Nakuru Showground.

The two sides finished second in Zone 'A' and 'B' respectively forcing the play-off match.

Two goals by Nelly Kache saw MTG United end their 13-year turbulence in the low-tier league.
