KCB have moved to the summit of the FKF Premier League table after defeating Mathare United 1-0 at Kasarani.

This is after Kakamega Homeboyz suffered their first loss of the campaign at the hands of newbies FC Talanta who defeated them 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Derrick Otanga’s 76th minute strike saw the bankers move top on goal difference.

KCB have 25 points same as Homeboyz but boasts of a superior goal difference of nine goals, two more than the latter.

The bankers are now enjoying an 11 match unbeaten form (won seven and drew four) and in the process maintained their superior head-to-head record against Mathare having beaten the Slum Boys four times in their last five meetings.

On the other hand, the Slum Boys have now lost seven of their last eight matches apart from their 2-2 draw with Homeboyz, a poor record which has left them second last in the log with seven points after 11 matches.

Mathare remained 17th and in the relegation zone with seven points.
