Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Premier League defending champions Vihiga Queens will face off against rivals Thika Queens in the finals of the league.

Both teams finished the season unbeaten but it was Thika Queens who caught the eye of fans after finishing the season with a 100 percent win record.

In Zone A, Thika Queens wrapped up a perfect season with a 5-0 win over relegated Mathare United Women in a one sided match played over the weekend on June 12 at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi.

Harambee Starlets star striker Mwanahalima Adam scored a hat-trick in addition to Catherine Githae and Nuru Hadima goals to inspire the Thika based club to their 14th win of the season.

Thika finished top of Zone A standings with 42 points, 13 points ahead of second placed Gaspo Women who ended the season with a draw after being held to a 3-3draw by Makolanders.

Ulinzi Starlets finished third after playing out to a barren draw against Zetech Sparks who ended the season six points above the drop zone with 18 points.

Kayole Starlets edged out Kibera Soccer Ladies 2-1 to finish fourth with 19 points.

The defeat saw Kibera alongside Makolanders and Mathare Women relegated.

In Zone B, holders Vihiga Queens fought off a resilient Trans Nzoia Falcons 3-2 to finish the season unbeaten and top of the standings with 40 points after winning 13 and drawing one match in the regular season.

Nakuru Queens, Wadadia, Trans-Nzoia and Kisumu All Starlets finished second to fifth respectively.

Eldoret Falcons, Sep Ladies and Oseria Ladies were all relegated.

Vihiga Queens and Thika will now renew their rivalry in a later date yet to be confirmed by FKF.
